Having just gotten of the phone with my good buddy Carl Radford, we've worked up some preliminary thoughts for workshops in Scotland next summer. We are considering offering two workshops at Carl's home outside of Glasgow in mid or late June of 2008 on successive weekends. One workshop will cover platinum/palladium and gum over platinum printing and the other will be wet plate collodion.

At this point, we're looking for a show of hands from anyone who may want to attend either or both of these workshops to see if there's enough interest to make a go of it.  The platinum/gum workshop will have a maximum of 4 students and the wet plate workshop will have a maximum of 6.  Costs and dates are still being worked up. We'll get into more details once we see how much interest there is out there.

I'd be interested as well! Probably both workshops, but mainly the platinum/
gum thing.

I was at John Coffer's workshop this summer. I hope to have gotten all the
stuff together this winter to start my own wet plate foray this spring.

I'd be interested in the wetplate workshop subject to dates. Have these
details been confirmed? If so, any places left?
Cheers,
Lee

I'm currently working on an annoucement for these workshops. I will be posting it here and other places on the net within the next several days. Tentatively, it looks like the wet plate workshop will be June 28-29. More info soon!!

Maybe Carl will put together a couple day distillery tour? Might as well
make a week out of it. That may even get a couple of us Yanks over
there. I've always wanted to visit. Hopefully in the next couple of years.

Had a great time this weekend with Quinn and his family. We made a few plates and tins ahead of Kerik's foray over in June just to ensure everything works ok. It was great to feel that I was part of a revival under Quinn's guidance. Having played with Kerik in the States last year it was good to have black paws again. People you're in for a great time :)

Having just returned from the UK, I know this will be a real treat for all of you attending. You couldn't ask for a better location or better people.

I can second the comment of "You're in for a great time!" That's for sure! Carl has a wonderful setup and morever, he's great people (as well as his family; Liz and Lewis).
