July 18, 2005

For those of you in the Seattle, Washington area, I'm going to be shooting some wet plate images Friday and maybe Saturday (July 22 & 23, 2005) downtown and in the Bellevue area. I'm staying in Remond at the Marriot Inn.

I'm looking for a place to develop my plates and something interesting to photograph. People are telling me I need to go downtown and do portraits, maybe I will. I need to make a portable dark box (cardboard box with rubylith) because I won't have my van.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in watching, assisting, shooting, contact me and we'll try to arrange to hookup.

Sounds fun Quinn.

When you get a chance, could you post some photos of your dark box you
are building. I'd like to take a look at it.
I'm looking for something cheap and easy to put together.

Good luck,

Mark Z

That is a BUMMER! I had a great time up there. I'm lovin' Seattle! I just got back last night. What a beautiful area! Good people, good food and a very photo-friendly city.

I want to do a workshop up there this Fall - I'm working on getting a darkroom/working facility (Cascades Academy in Issaquah) - stay tuned, I'll give plenty of notice on this one.

Quinn,

I'm heading up to Issaquah on Friday to teach a pt/pd workshop. Will let you know how it goes.

Kerik,

Thanks, I'd like to know what it's like. I was working with them (Bob/Di) a year or two ago to do something and they were very interested and then one of us dropped the ball. There is a lot of interest in the NW for this process, it would be a good move for them to do something like this and I need it for school - we both win!

Good luck on your pt/pd workshop, I wish I could go!

Quinn Jacobson

You need to make those announcements with more lead time!

Don't worry, it my seem nice enough when visiting but I can assure you that you would come to hate the latte-drinking, SUV-driving, cell phone-yakking, ruder than New York (trust me), traffic-congested (60-90min each way to work), insane law-making place just like the rest of us were you subjected to it more frequently.
