Calendar Event: UK Gathering - 22-23 November 2008 Posted: 27 August 2008 at 02:06 |
UK Gathering
Too impatient to wait for the European Gathering in Paris a call sounds out to all that might wish to gather in Bonnie Scotland over the weekend of 22-23 November 2008. I offer our house as the centre of activities, a nice little darkroom, some nibbles, a wee dram and scope for showing work and image making! Rumour has it that we have a fine Indian restaurant close by should people find the need.
What is more a mystery guest will be here too! He has agreed to show some work and provide a masterclass and take the hot seat for a question and answer session.
This is a free event to promote the wet-plate collodion process, to renew old acquaintances and make new ones.

Hi Carl, I'd love to find out more about wet plate - if it's possible to come along I'd love to.

Our guest - I think the topic might give this one away - will be demonstrating the art of negatives, printing and toning! Not to be missed :)

Well a great weekend came to an end! 8 of us including Quinn talked, made plates - mostly negs, printed on some POP. What better way to spend a weekend - evryone enjoyed themselves and we are already planning the next UK Gathering which will be held down south in early summer 2009. A big thank you to Quinn for taking the time to come over and support and encourage the UK Black Paw contingent -gloves were provided for those that wanted them - hopefully we shall be represented at the European Gathering in June 2009.
Again many thanks to Quinn!

It was a fantastic time, meeting old friends and some new. Many thanks to Quinn for sharing his knowledge and Carl, Liz and Lewis for their warm hospitality and great food.
John.
