It's coming up then and I'd like to know too. I'd also like to know what Wet Plate Day actually is.

I got the description from their FB page:
"May 4, 2019 will be the next Wet Plate Day - more information coming..."
"World Wet Plate Day (WWPD) is a web based venue to celebrate the process of wet plate collodion photography. It’s purpose is to showcase contemporary wet plate collodion photography from all over the world. And it’s to celebrate the inventor, Frederick Scott Archer, the inventor of the process.
Photographers and artists may exhibit their work on the WWPD website. These photographs must utilize some form of the wet plate collodion medium (positives, negatives, or prints) and must be made on Wet Plate Day.
A selection of images may be published in the annual WWPD book/catalog.
World Wet Plate Day is an opportunity for collodionists to build a community, educate the public about the process, and speak of its place in the history of photography. Additional meetings, demonstrations, workshops and/or exhibitions allow people throughout the world to experience the process first hand."

So, it appears that the only "official" information about WWPD is on Facebook, which points to a link: www.wetplateday.org, which is just a placeholder! (All google references to content on the wetplateday.org site are dead links) Putting the only legitimate information about the event in Facebook's walled garden means that many people won't see anything but the first few lines of info, since the rest is blocked from view unless you have a Facebook account! Anyone who actually cares how their activities are monitored and farmed by Facebook doesn't have an account (that would include me), so by putting the information there, many people simply cannot access it.
