whatever the owners think.

this is just my opinion.  the website should be a place to show case all the wetplate work we can while we have the attention of the masses.  i would think that as WPC artists we want o draw as many people into our process for the good of the process and our art.

i disagree that quantity equates less quality.  i am sorry if i some how implied that.  i believe it is possible to have more than two quality plates from any good day, shoot, or artist.

just my 2 cents...i realize it is not my call and it is not a debate.

thanks again to everyone involved.

I agree, less is more.

The number that participated is amazing - a really good thing! Part of the idea is to show a couple of plates from each person, and the more people the better. I think diversity is the keyword here. I edited mine down to three plates from the day and uploaded them before I knew that so many people were actually making images - I just deleted the third one from the site - two per person is plenty.

Also, depending on how many we have submit for the catalog/book, I may have to limit it to one per photographer. Right now, it still stands at two per person. The images I've received so far are great! I hope to have this completed sometime in June.

Eddie, I actually kinda disagree (not that this subject is really up to debate as its ultimately the call of the folks running it)
keeping it finite and possibly even limited to the images that would be in the book seems much more appropriate. Seems good and productive to force people to cull down to the two "bests" of the day they had. Rather than throw up everything.

Quality over quantity, just my own thoughts.

Nonetheless, the website looks great and I'm excited about the book.
Thanks to everyone involved in coordinating and doing all this work.

FWIW i think i  t would be in the best interest of the website and the idea to use as many photos for the website that we can.

i realize the book is finite so it may be more practical to limit the input, but one of the great things about the internet is the ability to show case the maximum amount  and really get the message/info out there.

Exactly, I think 2 is a good amount, but we can see how many people really submit.  The book will be really high res.

Garrett, I see Quinn is asking for a maximum of 2 images for the book submissions. Is there a similar limit on website uploads? (I realize that I'm making a very wild assumption that I could make more than 2 worthwhile plates on Saturday, but I've got a model lined up and I'm really hoping to make at least a few good plates!)

I'm also assuming it would be okay to submit the best shots to both the book and the site. The book is presumably going to be much higher resolution.

I will be helping install the pictures you take on WWPD to the site.  Just go to the site and click the "upload" link and follow the easy instructions.  Allow me time to create the thumbnail and post, if we get a lot uploaded at one time...

Everyone shoot Saturday, May 2, and pick your best plates!

We are indebted to Geert-Jan Heyda for the tremendous amount of work he put into the site and the design work on it - it looks WONDERFUL. Thanks to Garrett (Goamules) for the text and the help and encouragement, too.

Richard offered a domain name, and we appreciated that, but opted for a shorter, .org domain - playing off of the Pinhole Day site.

Please visit the site and download the poster/print out and do some promotion over the next couple of weeks! May 2 is coming up fast!

The web site: http://www.wetplateday.org

Again, thanks Geert-Jan!
