Congratulations Quinn ! The site looks great....very nicely laid out and very complete ! I wish this type of source existed last year when I was scraping together all my materials. I had two quick questions though (and figured I would just ask them here)...
1. What is the (real world) difference between the two Negative Intensification Kits ?
2. It appears that the Albumen paper is sold in packets of 10 sheets, but its not entirely clear...is this the case ?

Once again, beautiful job and I'm about to place my 1st order ....

Looks good Quinn.  I'll second that opinion about how nicely the site is laid out and easy to navigate.

One suggestion:  make another sidebar menu for plates and paper.

And a couple questions:  I see you have a production date coming up of March 11th.  Do you have any collodion ready to ship now and is there a ripening and tesing period involved for that March date?

Any idea when the DVD may be released?

Congratulations on getting this up and running.

Quinn,

The site looks great. I'm in the same boat as Joe - I need collodion NOW.

Congrats,

Congratulations Quinn, well done and thanks so much for your dedication and perserverence with all this. Site works great, i gave it a spin as soon as i got your email, simple and easy to use. Alot better than most ecommerce sites i've used.

One more for the 'need now' list Quinn :-)

Congratulions Quinn, Good on you!

I live in Switzerland and was wondering can you ship over sea's ( i know the
answer)? Maybe you should have something about international orders on
the site, just my 2 cents. Or maybe you do buy I couldn't find it.

Thanks everyone. I will take those suggestions and add/edit/modify the site and services.

I am making about 1500mls of (warm tone) positive Collodion this weekend. I have bulk raw chemistry coming in (as well as supplies) the week of the 27th. So, if you want some Collodion now, place it and I'll have it shipped in a few days (Monday at the latest). I will actually have the Collodion made, tested and ready to ship at the production date. I've got a method, but will be adjusting as I go along.

The DVD should be ready to go in ~90 days. I didn't have time to upload and have you guys review every chapter, but it's coming along and will be offered with the manual and without it.

I'm working on shipping to Europe now. So far, it's slow and feedback is limited, we'll see. It could be EXTREMELY expensive.

I appreciate your patience and support, bear with me and we'll make this work! It will get easier and easier as we move forward. Any problems or issues, feel free to contact me.

It seems to be working OK this evening. I just placed an order and everything went smoothly online.

Will you be adding items like hydrometers and labware?

I enjoyed perusing your shelves! I agree with Joe that you need a side bar
menu for plates and paper, and perhaps also for the other sundries, like
plate holders and other goods you might sell.

As for other stuff to sell;

Lab-ware particularly scales, hydrometers, aprons, beakers, pouring
bottles, et cetera.

Specific equipment for Wet-Plate; silver-baths, plate vises, developing
trays...

great work!

jason

ps: curious about your albumen paper; is it sensitized in Silver Nitrate or
just albumenized?

Never mind the Albumen question, I actually read (!) and see that you send
the paper unsensitized, but include the silver with the toner.

I am interested in trying the paper, and will certainly make an order
sometime soon.

I found it interesting when browsing through the products that when I clicked on the details and looked at them, when I pressed the previous and next buttons at the bottom, it referred me back to the last item whose details I had looked at.  I expected it to show me either the previous or next item in the listing.  Hope that makes sense.

Diane,

That's correct.

It's "context sensitive." In other words, if you are in the detail view, you will see the detail of the next or previous item. Also, if you are in the thumbnail view/regular view, and you select previous or next, you will see the previous or next item in that same context (thumbnail/regular view). That is confusing to talk about and I may have missed your point.

Labware and supplies: YES. I've been doing some research and inquiring about offering scales, hydrometers, PH Strips, alcohol lamps, bottles (of all sizes and uses), dippers, baths, trays, whetstones, glass cutters and boards, etc etc. It may be a process, but I hope to be a one-stop shop for all things wet plate.

I'm a bit nervous about striking a deal with a supplier and find out wet plate photogs don't want the brand, style or flavor. I'll have to baby-step it a bit and see what happens.

Congratulations!!! The site looks great Q., already placed my first order.
Everything looks logical and seems to run smoothly.

Some possibilites?

1. Can the site kick off an email to alert the customer of the shipping and
impending arrival of the chemistry?

2. Any consideration regarding some boutique formulas such as Lea's
landscape collodion or Quinn's favorite etc.???

I know it's early and I imagine you're really going to have your hands full.
but it looks like it's off to a great start.

all the best,
steve

Thanks Steve!

1. Yes, the customer will know when his/her order is shipped and have an idea of arrival date.

2. Great idea. I am working on a couple of them now, I will add them as I move along.

Again, I appreciate the support and feedback.
