Time has come to set the 2010 date...

My suggestion:

Saturday May 1st

There is no particular reason for this date, just the convenience of a saturday.

Any other suggestions out there?

Thanks for lighting this fire, Geert-Jan. It is getting close! I'll make an announcement in a few days about the progress we've made and the details surrounding it. Stay tuned!
 
May 1st is Archer's death date (see John Brewer's research). I think it would be better to have it on his birthday, however, no one knows when that is - so his death date it is! May 1st!

Geert-Jan, 

The Wet Plate Day will be May 1, 2010. We have an event that day and will be announcing it soon. Also, it seems that Eddie and Eoghan have some east coast and west coast (US) plans - which is terrific! So let's say it's official, May 1, 2010 Wet Plate Day! 

Book: I think there will be another book this year - we'll see if we can make it a bit smoother this year, too - it's all unfolding now.

I think there are three wetplaters in Tucson, AZ now.  Maybe we can arrange a small demo or shoot here in the southwest too.
