Wow! It's been a loooong time coming but it's here! Everyone that's ordered a manual (and patiently waited, thank you!) will be receiving a copy in the next few days!! I'm elated!!

I got a load in tonight via UPS (was just here) - here are some snaps of the book:

Front Cover (changed a bit from the draft).

Back cover. I decided to immortalize the Rev Dan Weldon,
my resonator teacher... I really like this image, it's personal
and means a lot to me.

For those that contributed; thank you! You're published!!! Great
examples of common problems, I appreciate your support. (and yes, you
are credited with a byline and copyright).

One of my goals was to make something nice to look at and easy to
read. I hope I accomplished that with this manual. I included a lot of
personal images that are my favorites.

I thought that this image was an appropriate one for the "Troubleshooting"
chapter, how could I NOT use it?

I tried to illustrate (through photographs and drawings) what happens
during this process from mixing chemistry to developing a plate. If you
like the forum board, I think you'll like the manual.
It's 139 pages with MSDS and some 19th Century material (Towler)
in the 13th Chapter.

Quinn Jacobson

Thanks Mark.

I have plenty in there with my mistakes too, it's what makes wet plate, wet plate! Some examples are just better than others!

I'm really happy about being able to add those at the last minute. It really drives the point home about what these anomalies look like and some possible remedies for them.

Thanks again Mark!!

Just received my copy. Quinn, it's absolutly fabulous!

Well done, well written, easy to follow, and the images are great. Good detail on the print job.

I'm half way through it.

Hi Quinn!

I'm in the UK and I've tried to order your manual from Amazon.co.uk but it isn't in stock, Amazon.com have a 4-6 week waiting list (a conservative estimate, if my experience is anything to go by, plus they add $10 to the price!) and Altphoto source does not have a shipping rate for the UK.

When you leave for Europe, will you be arranging for a european or UK distributor?

regards,
Neil.

19th century photography is a dying invention, no longer valued by some, and far too laborious for the masses.

There's hope though, Quinn has provided a modern manual for the modern person! Packed full of colored illustrations and detailed information on a 158 year old process, a truly unique book.

I salute you Quinn for having this readily available to the public!!!

Once again thank you!
