After MUCH thought on the subject, I have decided to once again offer One on One Tutorials at my southern New Jersey location.   Many of the initial contacts I get in my Star Camera Company business are from people who are looking to begin the process...but have very little idea of how, or where, to go about it.

SO,  I will resume tutorials strictly by appointment.    I teach One on One.   There is no classroom situation and you get full attention from dawn to dusk.   When you are done, you will be dog tired but hopefully you will be able to go out on your own and do the process with ease, and be able to troubleshoot any problems that come your way.

I do not require you to have your own equipment, but if you DO, that is preferred.  You will need to purchase a basic chemical order, enough to work on your own for quite awhile.  The list will be provided.

This is NOT an intro to wet plate day.    I only teach those who are willing to dedicate themselves to this process for the long term...not folks just looking for an overview and a sniff of the ether.

Tutorials can begin  later this month, any day of the week is fine with me, I will work to suit your needs as to date.   Arrangements must be made in advance, along with a 50% deposit.
Fee for the whole day Tutorial is $400.

If you are intersted, please email me at RM (at) starcameracompany.com

I have been involved with wet plate since 1995 and have made thousands of images and have given tutorials to dozens of people, many who have gone on to teach the process themselves.  I learned the Craft from Mark Osterman, who is the finest wet plate practitioner of the Modern Era.

thanks, Ray
