I'm thinking about hosting a World Wet Plate Day in Norman, Okla. on May 1st. My grad studio has several huge north-facing windows in an old WWII-era building close to I-35. The space is pretty big and I have an area with a sink that could be used as a darkroom. Anyone interested? It would be nice to have some other shooters there. Here are a few digital images of my wet-plate gathering yesterday. I will post some plates later on. I was surprised how many showed up. I had planned on shooting a bunch, but ended up letting the guests gets their hands blackened instead. Hey... How cool, I am in Oklahoma too and am thrilled to see that you are developing a community of interested persons. I plan to get outside and expose some wet plates myself this summer. I will keep my eyes focused on your group's activities and see if you might have another "event" in the near future. Well done. |
