You can check out a few images and read a few words about my first workshop in America in a few years by going to my blog: http://studioq.com/blog/2011/9/7/back-in-the-saddle.html - Back In The Saddle

A big thanks to a couple of forum members; Chris Kirk (kirk) and Rob Perisho (bedlamfoto) - great guys and great photographers. I see some wonderful images coming from both of these guys!

Quinn:

That workshop was amazing. I'm convinced I took 1-2 years off my learning curve (which can be substantial). I really never thought I'd understand the theory and the technique as well as I do now simply after a few days in a workshop. I usually pick up theory pretty quickly but the technique takes me forever. I'm the least handy person I know!

I get frustrated very easily. I was worried about that getting into this process. I only got frustrated with the cleaning. And Quinn fixed that by the second day.

I highly recommend his workshops to anyone. Thanks for all your help Quinn. I'll post my first plates soon. Once I retouch them in Photoshop. Just kidding Quinn.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the note and kind words - I appreciate that.

You were an inspiration to everyone. Passion is a good thing; regardless of what the world tells you. We need more of it and you have it! You'll go far in the historic process world with it, too.

Look for some great images from Herr Kirk. Looking forward to seeing your work from the course posted here, too!

We're glad you're home safe and sound. Our best to your wife and girls.

I drove 17 hours straight from Denver to Austin yesterday. If given the choice to stay in west Texas overnight, or drive 17 hours, I'll take the latter. The studio (shed) is ready, so looks like I'll be making plates in about one week once I get everything set up now.
